When TheCity was introduced, it was our hope it would enhance the sense of community we experience at OLPH by creating more opportunities for one-to-one interactions, providing an online forum for ministries to share ideas, events, needs, and service opportunities while enriching discipleship through shared prayer, reflections, and witnesses. Many parishioners embraced the private, online social network as parish staff and ministry leaders supported it and explored its capabilities despite occasional hurdles. By industry standards, our church community was on target during launch and adoption phases.
Regretfully, TheCity is being discontinued by its developer, signaling a shift in its business model and offering no immediate replacement. Therefore, as of June 30, we will end our relationship with TheCity and take a breath, so to speak. It’s an opportunity to evaluate our communications efforts, existing social platforms and goals related to Engagement and Communio.
For members with live profiles and active groups within TheCity, please save any files, contacts or key dates related to your ministry, prior to Monday, June 26.
