Russell's Fall Concert
The next edition of Russell Stern and Friends will be on Sunday, November 17 at 2:00pm in the Church.
This free concert will feature two amazing singers:
- Alfreda Burke
- Rodrick Dixon
You may have seen them in the wonderful PBS special called Hallelujah, Broadway! They also have shared their talents for special services here at OLPH.
Russell will accompany them on the piano and will perform some solo compositions. Repertoire will include Broadway, Opera, Gospel and more.

Alfreda Burke, Soprano
Alfreda Burke’s vocal artistry has been described as “voluptuous, creamy and luxuriant” (Chicago Tribune). She has appeared in concert throughout North America and in Europe. She made her Carnegie and Orchestra Hall debuts in Strauss’ Elektra with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra led by Daniel Barenboim.
Ms. Burke filmed Prague PBS Special Hallelujah Broadway with Rodrick Dixon, Linda Eder and Anthony Kearns and recorded it on EMI/Manhattan Records label.
Her performances are dedicated to the life, love, legacy and cherished memory of Pastor John H. Burke Jr. & First Lady Mamie R. Burke.
Rodrick Dixon, Tenor
Rodrick Dixon is a classical crossover artist that possesses a tenor voice of extraordinary range and versatility. His body of work covers 25 years of television, recordings, live theater and concerts; including Great Performances PBS Specials: Three Mo’ Tenors; Cook, Dixon & Young Vol. 1; and the Mark Twain Awards at the Kennedy Center (with tenors Victor Cook and Thomas Young).
He went on to record Prague PBS Special Hallelujah Broadway, starring his wife, Alfreda Burke. His eclectic discography with Sony BMG, EMI Records and Naxos has delighted fans all over the world; from Opera to Broadway to Gospel.
