Welcome Fr. John Trout

I am proud to announce that Cardinal Cupich has appointed Fr. John Trout as the next pastor of OLPH. 

His term here begins on July 1.

I have known Fr. Trout for many years. Fr. Trout was born in County Kildare in Ireland. He was ordained as a missionary for the St. Patrick Fathers and served for many years in Africa. He came to the United States and was eventually incardinated in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He brings a wealth of experience. He was the pastor of St. Joseph in Libertyville for many years and most recently the pastor of St. Anne in Barrington.

He has many gifts he will bring here as the next pastor. I am really looking forward to assisting him in his transition. My goal is to help him be the best pastor ever! This parish is an enormous blessing for priests who have had the pleasure to serve here.
