On January 10, the OLPH Business Networking Ministry hosted the third annual Youth Summer Job Fair. This year saw a record number of employers and vendors, 11, and a record number of job seekers, 107. Many job seekers - looking for their first job - brought a parent, adding to the energetic atmosphere of the evening. The event gave them an opportunity to participate in an informal venue learn about potential job opportunities and expectations.
Employers had the chance to tell their story as to why they are a great place to spend the summer. The Glenview Park District, a third year participant, brought a team of recruiters and great chotchkies, including water bottles, sunglasses, and pens!
With the job market tightening, employers are aggressively seeking ways to meet potential employees. If you were unable to attend, the ministry is in the process of publishing an electronic program of the event. It will include participating empoloyers' contact information and handouts. Expect it to be avaliable for download from the OLPH Youth Ministry Group webpage after February 1.
