Parish Grouping
Renew My Church is an archdiocesan initiative that involves all the people of the archdiocese and their faith communities. The goal of Renew My Church is to make our parishes more vital and more sustainable. A very important part of the process of Renew My Church is the parish groupings, which will help us discern where God is leading us. Two weeks ago, we announced that Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish has been grouped with Saint Catherine Larboure in Glenview, Saint Norbert and Our Lady of the Brook, both in Northbrook. This grouping will enable us to assess, plan, and discern how best to meet the needs of the future in a way that is both reasonable and in conformity with God’s will for us. Everything begins with building relationships across parishes in a given grouping. That means getting to know each other and perhaps sharing some common projects or events, such as retreats, lectures, or community service for those in need.
As part of this archdiocesan initiative, the four parishes in our grouping are taking action in faith-sharing between our communities. OLPH community invites all parishioners to participate in this initiative by attending the Lenten Mission at Saint Catherine Laboure (3535 Thornwood Ave Glenview, IL on March 5th and 6th beginning at 7:30 p.m. Then, on March 21st, our grouping will also share a Lenten reconciliation service at Saint Norbert Parish (1809 Walters Ave., Northbrook, IL) on March 21st at 7:00 p.m. Please check the calendar for more details.
