In the Catholic tradition, our parish observed Lent through prayer, fasting and almsgiving and in unity with the young people cared for by NPH. As a means of making Lent more real and compelling, we welcomed 13 young people and 2 chaperones from the NPH Guatemala orphanage home into our parish in March. They were hosted by OLPH families and provided liturgical music at Masses, as well as a Fiesta, over the weekend of March 10/11.
Through our almsgiving efforts and a second collection over the March 10/11 weekend, we were able to present Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) with a check for $19,436.00. Additionally, NPH received direct donations during the Lenten season totalling $8000. They are very appreciative of our parish's generous support.
