Dear Parishioners,
In light of the recent tragic mass shooting at Annunciation School in Minneapolis, we have conducted a thorough review of our safety protocols. We consulted with the Glenview Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Archdiocese’s Best Practices, and will be implementing additional safety measures in the coming weeks.
My primary concern is the safety of children in the church, both from the school and in religious education. The Police and Fire Departments recommend restricting access to the church when children are present while ensuring safe evacuation routes. To meet these requirements, panic bars have been installed on all doors, allowing safe exit even when doors are locked.
Beginning Tuesday, November 4, and continuing any time school is in session:
- The 8:30 a.m. Mass doors will be locked shortly after Mass begins. Entry after that time will not be possible, though exiting will remain safe.
 - On Fridays, the chapel will remain accessible, but the church proper will be locked to accommodate Adoration.
 - On mornings of funerals or Holy Days, the church will remain open.

Because children are moving in and out of the church throughout the day, these measures are necessary. Additional safety protocols will be implemented in the future.
I am deeply grateful for your cooperation and support. The safety of everyone in our parish community is a responsibility we cannot compromise.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us!
Sincerely,
Fr. Jerry Boland
Pastor
