Archdiocese to Host Citywide Celebration, Prayer, Music and Mass Honoring Pope Leo XIV at Rate Field on June 14.

WHAT:
The Archdiocese of Chicago invites media and the public to a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the election of Pope Leo XIV, the first pope born and raised in the Chicago area. Pope Leo’s message of peace, unity and the key to a meaningful life has resonated deeply around the globe. This celebration offers a unique opportunity for the people from Chicago and beyond to come together in shared pride for one of our own.
All are invited: Catholics, people of other faith traditions and those interested in exploring more.
The celebration will include:
- Pope Leo XIV will greet Chicagoland and offer the first broadcast of his special video message to the young people of the world.
- Cardinal Blase J. Cupich will greet the crowd and be the main celebrant and homilist during the Catholic Mass.
- Chicago Bulls announcer Chuck Swirsky - will emcee the program.
