This year during Lent, a group of twelve young people from Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for Our Little Brothers and Sisters) Guatemala, a home for orphaned, abandoned and at-risk youth have been welcomed into the homes of families from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Throughout their stay they are participating in a folkloric music and dance tour to raise awareness and funds at a variety of churches, businesses and schools.
Earlier this week, they visited our parish school. Kindergarten through eighth grade students attended an all-school assembly showcasing the music, culture and talents of the young people from NPH Guatemala. They also shared their inspiring life stories with our students. Following the assembly, our guests visited Spanish classrooms, enjoyed lunch and played futsal in PE. We all enjoyed a powerful Lenten experience.
