Partnering with the Food Depository to Help Sharing Parishes

A group from OLPH Women's Club Guild 6 recently spent a few hours at the Greater Chicago Food Depository to benefit one of our Sharing Parishes, Our Lady of Tepeyac. Together with other groups, we repackaged 6,000 pounds of pinto beans!!  These beans will be distributed to 2,000 people this week. Other groups packaged 18,000 pears and salvaged 7,500 food products.

Volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository is an easy but important way to support our Sharing Parish pantries. Individuals or groups are always welcome to volunteer.  Each of our Sharing Parishes has an agency number for the donation of hours.

You can visit the GCFD at www.greatercfd.org . Volunteer hours provide funds for the pantries to purchase food at extremely discounted prices.
