The Role of the School Advisory Board

Every April, OLPH Parish conducts an election to fill the vacancies of the OLPH School Advisory Board members whose terms expire in May. This year the parish community will elect three (3) parent members and one (1) non-parent member, each for a three (3) year term.  The School Advisory Board plays an important role in shaping the school's short-term and long-term plans.

How to Apply for Candidacy

Individuals interested in being a candidate for election to the School Advisory Board will mail or deliver the following information to the Parish Rectory in care of "OLPH School Advisory Board Nominating Committee" no later than Monday March 23, 2015.

Please submit:

  1. Family information (e.g. children, ages, grades, etc.)
  2. Number of years in the parish
  3. Educational background
  4. Occupation
  5. Activities and interests
  6. Reasons for wanting to serve on the OLPH School Advisory Board

Review and Election

The School Advisory Board Nominating Committee will review and approve the applications. The election will be held from April 20, 2015 through May 3, 2015. School families will receive their ballots in the mail. Non-school families will go to the Rectory to vote. The ballots will be counted on Sunday May 3, 2015. The successful candidates will be announced thereafter. Newly elected Board members are expected to attend their first School Advisory Board meeting on May 11, 2015.
