Two Brothers from OLPH Church Journeyed to See the Pope

Two brothers, one a seminarian and another a campus ministry director, traveled to Philadelphia to see Pope Francis. To get there, they took a nineteen hour bus ride with a group of more than fifty pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Chicago. The details these two brothers observed were each slightly different, but both agreed that this opportunity is something they will never forget.

Training for New Ministers of Care Begins September 30

Ministers of Care bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are homebound, living in nursing homes, or in the hospital. They share with them the word of God in scripture, pray with them for the Church and the world, and offer them companionship. Our Yoga Group meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30 am in the Dussman Room. This is theraputic hatha yoga for muscle strength and flexibility. We focus on core strength and alignment. No prior yoga experience is necessary. A donation of $10 per class is requested. 100% of your donation goes directly to "Little by Little" Medical Mission to Haiti.

During the Masses on the weekend of September 26 and 27, Charles Warren will tell his vocation story and share more about the life of a seminarian at Mundelein. The purpose of Mr. Warren’s visit is to raise awareness of the seminaries who rely on support from the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Sundays After the 9:30 Mass
Beginning Sunday, September 13th, Ministers of Care from OLPH will be available every Sunday after the 9:30 am Mass to bring Holy Communion to homebound parishioners.
If you, a family member or a friend are unable to attend Sunday Mass due to illness, physical limitation, short or long-term disability, please call the Parish Office to request a visit by a Minister of Care on Sunday mornings after the 9:30 am Mass.

Parish member Karen Schuenzel is used to being busy. With a husband who travels often for his job, two young daughters and a career with a major company, she always has something going on. This summer, however, recovering from surgery is her priority. After breaking her ankle 10 years ago, she suffered bone on bone arthritis for a decade. Finally, she has a new ankle and some time to put her feet up, literally. She recently shared her discipleship journey with us.

We are pleased to announce that Luana Lienhart has accepted the position of Social Worker for the Needy Family Fund at OLPH. She will work closely with Sister Paulanne and her ministry to the poor. Ms. Lienhart will begin working here on August 3.
