Devotions Ministry

The OLPH Devotions Ministries are a community of people from OLPH, our Grouping Parishes and beyond who uphold the sacred devotions of our Catholic faith. The ministries are the Holy Rosary Group, Eucharistic Adoration, the Divine Mercy Holy Hour, and Hearts Afire Faith-Renewal Programs.

Mission Statement:

Catholic devotions and traditions enliven and nurture our Catholic faith, touching our hearts and allowing us to express our love of God.  Our distinct Devotions Ministries are united in doing what Our Lord and Our Lady request of us through daily worship, communal and contemplative prayer, and true devotion.  Our goals are to enjoy the beauty of our Catholic traditions, to transform our faith daily, and to grow in holiness.

Ministry Description:

Participation in these sacred Devotions Ministries cultivates peace, joy and deepened faith, and creates unique opportunities to pray for others.

Daily Holy Rosary

Join this loyal group in the Lady Chapel directly after 8:30 a.m. Mass Monday through Saturday to pray the Holy Rosary communally before the tabernacle and our beautiful icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Eucharistic Adoration & the Divine Mercy Holy Hour

The Adoration Ministry adores Jesus Christ present in the Holy Eucharist exposed in a monstrance (the vessel that displays the consecrated host). The ministry’s mission is to provide the parish community a time and a place to adore the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in a quiet and peaceful setting. All are invited to worship the Blessed Sacrament every Friday after the 8:30 a.m. Mass in the Lady Chapel. Exposition at 9:00 a.m. is followed by the Holy Rosary and then silent adoration until 3:00 p.m. when The Divine Mercy Holy Hour Ministry begins their prayers. This includes the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and the Stations of the Cross, and then concludes with Benediction.  Eucharistic Adoration ends by 4:00 p.m.

First Friday and First Saturday Devotions

These devotions are both reparatory devotions in the Catholic Church that arose from separate private revelations. The First Friday Devotion is for consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, while the First Saturday Devotion is for honoring the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the messages of Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima. These are two beautiful, powerfully moving opportunities to deepen your relationship with Jesus and Mary. The First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus takes place the first Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Lady Chapel and is said before the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration. The First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary takes place on the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. in Lady Chapel.

This is a parish-based, faith-renewal program designed to help our parishioners live the complete Catholic life.  As an OLPH Transformation Initiative, this three-stage, multi-book program aims to set hearts on fire with love of God and neighbor and to inspire us to works of mercy in our families, parishes, and communities. Programs are offered in the Fall and late Winter.

Time Commitment:

Whatever time you have to offer and need spiritually, whether it’s an hour or just ten minutes.  No membership is required. All parishioners and non-parishioners are welcome to join us in the Lady Chapel.
